Robot keeps rebuilding the map, or the turntable on top has stopped / makes noise?

When the FM1828 laser distance sensor fails, your Deebot can no longer measure the room in real time — it gets lost, repeats the same area, bumps into walls, or reports a lidar error. Replacing this unit restores normal laser navigation.

What it does

• Rotates on top of the robot to scan surrounding distance and build / update the home map.

• Used for TrueMapping-style path planning, room division and obstacle avoidance.

Symptoms this part can fix

• Top turntable does not rotate.

• Rattling / grinding noise from the top cover.

• Robot re-maps the same room every run or cannot finish cleaning.

• Robot drives into furniture or cannot build a map.

Installation

1. Power off the robot, flip it over and remove the top cover screws.

2. Unplug the connector of the old laser sensor and lift it out.

3. Place the new FM1828 sensor, reconnect the plug, screw the cover back.
